For this new construction in the Cortex Innovation Community near St. Louis’ historic Central West End and Forest Park Southeast residential neighborhoods, Foam Engineers was required to apply K-13, a noise reduction application.
The tenants wanted to reduce reverberation and make speech and music more intelligible in certain areas of their working environment. The resilient fibers of K-13 Foam Engineers applied accomplishes this by absorbing sound energy instead of reflecting it. This application was for 1” which achieves a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.8-0.9. Greater thicknesses can provide a higher NRC on a wide variety of substrates.

The spray-applied cellulose insulation, K-13, can be modified to your specific project requirements. K-13 does not require additional materials to cover it once applied and can remain exposed. K-13 can be applied to nearly any surface and can meet or exceed specifications for insulation, noise reduction, and durability. Let Foam Engineers help you amplify the noise reduction in your work environment!
